Carpet pads affected with Category 2 water must be removed and properly disposed of as soon as possible. If a Category 2 is not treated right away, it will become Category 3 in less than 48 hours. - Category 3 or Black water such as sewage, toilet backflows or serious flooding from nearby rivers, etc. This water contains waste, bacteria and other serious contaminants. Black water can cause very serious health problems.
