3 Types of Water
Category 1 or Clean water typically originates from Burst pipes – Appliance malfunctions – Tub or sink overflows – Roof leaks – Blowing rain water -Broken toilet tanks – Condensation or a pipe leak.
Category 2 or Gray water is slightly dirty water from dishwashers, washing machines, clean toilets, and so on. And it may have some contaminants. Carpet pads affected with Category 2water must be removed and properly disposed of as soon as possible. If a Category 2 is not treated right away, it will become Category 3 in less than 48 hours.
Category 3 or Black water such as sewage, toilet backflows or serious flooding from nearby rivers, etc. This water contains waste, bacteria and other serious contaminants. Black water can cause very serious health problems.
